![]() People like to ask me does God really love and care for me? I tell them of course, the Lord cares for you. Then, I tell them what 1 Peter 5:7 has to say, “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” Then generally they reply that I know that is in the scripture. Then, they will say I already cast my cares upon him and I don’t see any results. Right then, I have to tell them you have to believe in the last part of the verse “for he careth for you”. That is what you need to focus on because when you believe that last phrase you then begin to operate in faith. See, we can cast our cares all we want, but it’s when we face the fact that he really cares is when we see the breakthrough, if not then we really can’t see a breakthrough come to life. The next question is can we really show the truth to someone just how much God cares without taking to them to John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Most generally that is the most common scripture someone would like to give. I want to show you a small passage out of the book of Matthew that proves that our Lord really cares for you. Let’s begin at Matthew 18:11; remember we’re focusing on “for he careth for you” from the 1 Peter 5:7 above. Now Matthew 18:11 says “For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.” Now look at two major points out of this verse. The first point is “For the Son of man is come”. This tells us Jesus is ready to visit you. The question is, are you ready to let him in when he comes? The second point is “to save that which was lost”. Now, are we going to own up to that we have a problem. Many people right here only want to take this as salvation. That maybe true, but are you not lost when you can’t solve a problem. I know that I am. Now, let’s put 1 Peter 5:7 into perspective with what is being said right here. When I cast my cares on the Lord I have to invite him in, then the Lord begins to take care of my problems. Now, if I only tell him of my problems and don’t invite him in then I have given him no room to take care of my problems. The same thing applies to praying. We can give a petition and walk away immediately or we can stay and hear what the Lord has in store for us to find the answer to our problems. Now, this care continues on. Take a look at the next verse. Jesus tells us this Matthew 18:12 “How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray? ” Can you see just how much he really cares. Right here is where we can see that Jesus is stating that he already cares for you “and one of them be gone astray”. What does Jesus do when one of his children go astray or in this case that has a real problem and it needs to be resolved? Jesus will go after them “doth he not leave the ninety and nine”. Now how far will he go? Jesus will go way out of his way “and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray”. We have to understand Jesus never forsakes us; it’s us who does the forsaking. How can this be true? When we don’t allow him to come in, we forsake him, we deny him the opportunity to help us. This tells us we can’t keep running; it’s time to open the door of our hearts and let him in. It doesn’t stop right here, continue into the next verse. Matthew 18:13 “And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.” When Jesus catches up to you and you let Jesus in your heart he rejoices “so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep”. Can you see that Jesus cares for you? Jesus rejoices when you open up your heart to him. Why? It’s because you have made the decision to let him come in and help you out where you are lost at and he’s ready to give you the answer you’re looking for. All of this applies “for he careth for you”. You must understand Jesus left the ninety-nine that was going to be alright to come after you; which is what the ending of this verse is telling us, “than of the ninety and nine which went not astray”. Now, this doesn’t mean that Jesus has forsaken the ninety-nine. No, this is saying that Jesus wants us to be a part of that ninety-nine, to become family and no longer separated anymore. I liked what the Lord told me about the one that is astray. He told me the one that has gone astray is like a black sheep of the family and he doesn’t want anybody to feel like they are the black sheep of his family. Jesus cares so much that he goes after that one to help them so that they can become a part of his family again and will no longer feel left out anymore. Go to the next verse and just see how much Jesus wants you to be a part of his family. Read Matthew 18:14 “Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.” Now, Jesus is saying, God doesn’t want any of his children too far away from him because he wants to make certain that you are close by so he can take care of his children. Who are his children? The answer is me, you, your family, friends, or your neighbor. Each one that was mentioned is a “you”. The objective here is to understand that our Father has a will for us and that will is to bless us, not to harm us “Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.” Notice the underlined places. I am trying to point out that it never was God’s plan for someone to suffer. We have to get into a place to believe “for he careth for you” is very true so that we can get into that place of faith, operating and working for us because he does care for us. Jesus is ready to hear what our needs are and wants to take care of the situation at hand, because he cares that much for you. Each and every one of these verses point out that our Lord does care for us. It’s time for us to open up our hearts and let Jesus in so he can take care of us.
