Dedicated & Disciplined

Want to defeat those strongholds? Be dedicated and disciplined. This will bring signs/wonders/miracles into your situation to turn it around. Fasting and praying can help in many situations or challenges we face.

Mark 9: 17-29 Tells the story of a young boy who has had a deaf and dumb spirit demon since he was but a young child.  Some disciples of Jesus could not get rid of the demonic spirit and questioned Jesus about it.

In verse 29 we read:
“And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.”

We know this passage is about an evil spirit in a boy.  But you can apply this in other areas of life as well.  Anything that has a stronghold in darkness is not of God and it is not good.  Sometimes these strongholds can be an attack of sickness, addictions of any kind that can be harming you or someone else, low level mind sets such as depression/low self esteem, and many other things that can come against us.
 
Look at this verse Mark 11:23:
“For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.”
The word mountain can be used as the word stronghold.  It is a darkness or problem in your life that is standing in the way.  The thing I want you to understand is that it may take a lot of praying and fasting to defeat such strongholds that may be on us or someone we care about.  To be dedicated and disciplined means you should be very active in God’s word and put it into action. In other words, live it- live the word!  This means it could be everyday up to 2 to 3 times a day until you see the breakthrough. As an added note, it wouldn't hurt to make a regular habit of fasting and praying.

Matthew 6:33
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
 
When you look to God for help and the answers you need, he will show you how to be dedicated and disciplined to
overcome all of your battles.  This strengthens you so that God can use you to help others overcome their battles.
