![]() Everybody enjoys John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” especially at Christmas time or even on Valentine ’s Day because of the love that is to be surround us in such time, but do we really realized that it parallels with Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. See, Jesus wanted us to understand when we accepted him as that gift from God it was meant to be inseparable. The same as “nor forsake thee” meaning inseparable. Now why the “For Better or Worse”? Take and notice this part of the verse “he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee” which indicates that he is going to be with us twenty-four hours a day seven days of the week. Then we need to go back and follow-up with what is being said in the beginning of the verse “Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them” this was to prove that are strength will come from within by knowing Jesus is with us. Without taking it to much out of context we know that “fear not, nor be afraid of them” refers to people here, but it can also include the effects of storms life like family problems as well as seasonal storms or weather conditions. That is the very reason we see Luke 1:37 “For with God nothing shall be impossible” or even Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengthened me.” The truth is God sent his son just as we see in John 3:16 but we can’t forget that God sent us the Comforter either. John 14:26 “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. How can we really know this will work? Stop and go back to John 10:10 “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” The first half of this scripture tells us the thief brings us storms of life. The second half tells us that Jesus and the Holy Spirit was sent to help us to be strong, not afraid, and this means he will never leave us or forget about us. Why? God wanted us to live a life to the fullest and to enjoy every blessing he has for us. This stating the facts that God had made a provision for us to be over comers. Read John 10:10 again. The first part tells us don’t be afraid because the enemy is always ready to do some type of harm, but if we stay focus on Jesus we will overcome all that the enemy will throw against us and more through the second part. Don’t forget what Isaiah 54:17 says “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.” We have to understand it is us who does the forsaking not Jesus. How does this happen? When we choose not to get before God and seek his righteousness for us or have the attitude we got it under control now and put the Trinity on the back burner until something bad happens again. Matthew 6:33 “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” or Hebrews 4:16 “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” See, when we apply these two scriptures into our life it gives Jesus everything he needs to be there for us; no matter what the circumstances look like it is Jesus in our life. Now the truth is in the open Jesus is all about “For Better or Worse” when it comes to taking care of us.
