Our motorcycle or trike rides should be as victorious as our spiritual walk. How can we accomplish this victorious ride? When we obey and apply Joshua 1:8-9 into our ride. Then your journey will become victorious. Joshua 1:8 “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success”. Lets kick up our kickstands and rev-up 5 key words out of Joshua 1:8 meditate, observe, written, prosperous, and success and watch our ride become victorious. We will close out with a brief statement with Joshua 1:9 with the effects of using these five key words.
Meditate We are going to talk about a road map. How is a looking at a map related to meditate? Well! We meditate on the word (bible) for our spiritual walk; take time to focus on the map for the best route to take. Don’t just pull out a map and say hey, this is the route to take. Study it and see how it will affect you to get to your destination. Psalms 1:2; 119:15; and Matthew 6:33 will refresh you why it is important to study a map as rider for the best route and your walk with the Lord. This will help you put the key into your motorcycle for a victorious ride. {Meditate in Joshua 1:8 means two words: meditate (to focus one's thoughts on or ponder over) and muse (to become absorbed in thought; especially: to think about something carefully and thoroughly} Observe After you observe your map, notice what is in that route such as how many miles between towns, any restaurants, gas stations, and even repair shops. Motorcycles are not like cars where you can just stop at any mechanic shop unless you have a homemade trike with a car motor in it. These points of interest you’ve observed can tell you the truth about your route. Jesus says same thing about him. He is the best route to follow. John 14:6, it clearly states he is the way, truth and light. Read and observe the book of Jonah. It will cause you to be observant and understand to take the right path. Now you are ready to kick-up your kickstand. Start claiming that victorious ride. {Observe - to take notice; to conform one's action or practice to (as a law, rite, or condition): comply with; to come to realize or know especially through consideration of noted facts.} Written The map was written for us in four ways: (1) naturally, to visualize and refer back too to stay on course. (2) Spiritually, written on our hearts to know it’s the best and safest route. (3) Mentally, to place it in our minds to remember special places like exit ramps, restaurants, fuel stops and resting place like hotels or road side parks. (4) Prevent us from being lost and without help. God’s laws are written on our hearts the same way. Read Jeremiah 31:33; Hebrews 8:10 for our walk with him. Seeing the value of the map and information you wrote down, you put your motorcycle in gear and head on the road to your victorious destination. Prosperous Prosperous is meditating on your map (route) you will take and observing every need for your journey. It’s the information you have written down to complete your destination even with emergency stops. Jesus even left us with a prosperous way. His word is in the bible. His prosperous ways are Psalms 25:12; James 4:7; 1Peter 2:24 and John 3:16. Now is the time to put your kickstand back down and enjoy your victorious destination. {Prosperous here means: to make prosperous, bring to successful issue, cause us to prosper from Joshua 1:8}. Success You made it to your destination safely to complete your mission in visiting someone, ministering, or site seeing. Habakkuk 2:1-3 and Acts 20:24 say Jesus will cause you to reach your destination concerning his works in your life. He was successful by abiding in his Father (John 15:10), did what his Father did (John 5:19), and conquered death and rose again. Our road journey and spiritual life will have a victorious and successful ending {Success here means: to prosper, have success from Joshua 1:8.}In closing, Joshua 1:9 and John 14:7 both point this out: be strong, not afraid, nor dismayed, for our Lord Jesus will be with us. Why is this so important? Without understanding the five key words in Joshua 1:8 your trip and spiritual walk could be miserable. Jesus wanted us to have that victorious ride as well as our walk with him. We are victorious in Jesus.
