God’s word speaks to us. His word is full of power, wisdom, instructions to live a good life, and explains blessing and cursing. It is written and readable, or heard and understood. Deuteronomy 28 describes our covenant with God and it’s like a contract to us. Buying a house has instructions. You pay and keep your house, or you default and lose it. It’s a written and readable contract much like the bible. Your boss makes demands. You do it and get blessed with a paycheck or you don’t and you get sent back to the drawing board. You heard your boss and understood. When God speaks to you it has the same impacting power as when you heard your boss and obeyed. Many have heard God speak to them. For example, when Mary heard the Lord tells her to name her baby Jesus, Matt 1: 21-25. Another example is about Joseph hearing from the Lord to take Mary as his wife for their son would save the world from their sins, Matt 1: 19-20. Jesus heard from His Father all during his life. From the beginning of his ministry, temptation in the wilderness, the miracles performed, the parables taught, through His death, burial an resurrection, Jesus did what He heard his Father say. You can find this throughout the gospels.
Let his word pour over you. How do we hear God’s word speak to us? Get into a quite place, put on some praise music, ask the Lord to join you, then give Him your prayer requests knowing that he is with you and hears you. “This puts me in remembrance of my word says the Lord. Don’t leave me right after you give me your prayer requests. You must then be still and get ready to receive. You will then be able to hear me speak to you. I will lay something on your heart. You will hear me spiritually, now that you can hear me. I will then give you instructions. These instructions are your guidelines to your blessing. I will give you what you can handle until my word is fulfilled into your life. These are my words put into action. By getting into my presence each and every day you will learn how my word speaks to you more and more. I do care about you and will always love you. Love your heavenly Father which cares for that which concerns you.” Jesus Loves you and so do we.
